• I am using twenty-fourteen theme, just updated to WP 3.81. A “sticky” post no longer displays properly at top of front page. The sticky post is now a left justified black box in the menu section rather than the first post on the page. Others experiencing this problem? Or maybe it’s just a simple thing I’m doing wrong? The sticky post worked fine until today.

When I make the post NOT sticky, everything looks fine, like this: https://beniciaindependent.com/wp/. (You will NOT see the problem there, as I have removed the “sticky.”) I have posted a jpg screencapture of the problem here: https://beniciaindependent.com/images/sticky%20not%20displaying%20at%20top%20of%20page.jpg

Any help would be much appreciated, as I am rather new to WP.

Also note that I added the Sociable plug-in today. Maybe that caused the problem?

Basic troubleshooting: disable all plugins and all custom themes. Test your site. Everything work? Great. If not, the issue is likely with your server (PHP, MySQL, etc.)

Now activate any custom theme you’ll be using. Everything work? Great! If not, the themes the issue.

Now carefully re-activate your plugins one at a time. If everything works after activating a plugin, move on to the next. The moment an issue shows up, record which plugin you last activated. Then contact the plugin developers and let them know how to reproduce the issue.

Being able to reproduce the issue with detailed steps will make it a lot easier to figure out what might be happening.
