• Hi, how can we make sticky posts work with ColorMag please?

    We would like to keep a particular news story in the TG:Featured Content Slider and at the top of our TG:Featured Posts (Style 2) widget.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @bigwheelwebdesign,

    To make the posts you would need to modify the theme’s code via child theme and alter the widgets codes to obtain sticky posts.

    I’ve changed ‘ignore_sticky_posts’ to false in abstract-colormag-widget.php but that hasn’t worked. Can you give me a clue as to what I’m looking for, or which file I might find it in?

    Could you let me if you have altered the theme files or created a child theme and altered the file? It should have worked fine if you have altered the theme files rather than creating a child theme.

    I’ve created a child theme as editing the actual theme files will only work until they are updated to the next version. In my child theme directory I’ve created a new folder called inc and within that a subfolder called widgets, and that’s where I’ve reproduced abstract-colormag-widget.php with the edit I mentioned above. I’ve cleared all caches but it doesn’t seem to be working.

    @bigwheelwebdesign,

    For the sticky posts since editing on the child theme won’t work so you’ll need to edit on theme files and yes since the theme files will only work until the next version, you’ll need to replicate the changes in every version update.
