Hello. Thank you for your plugin development.

There is STILL an issue with the all the VSEL event permalinks going straight to 404. Whether the link is the title or added to the body of the event, all links lead to 404 page. This occurs in the widget and when used as a shortcode on a page.

It’s use is limited with this broken functionality.

    Hi Curt,

Did you resave the permalinks already? This should solve this problem.

    Guido

I am having the same problem. It only works with the default permalink settings. When I set it back to post name (which is much more search engine friendly and user friendly) it goes back to error 404.

Not to blow up the thread but I was able to fix mine. I set my permalink to custom and used “/%category%/%postname%/”. Of course the category part gets omitted when referring to a page (as opposed to a post). Now all my events link to “/event/city-state” formats and no more 404 message! Also, not sure if this is necessary but I already had an empty post-category named “Events” whose slug was “event”.

    Hi,

Strange, because it should work. I have set up a temp test page (link) with permalink set on “post name” and no issue here. Do you have a link of your site?

    Guido

Hi Guido, I have this problem too. Sometimes when I save a new event and preview I can see it. But most often I get a 404 page. Also…when I save the post, the custom excerpt gets messed up with extra symbols in it. I use elegant themes divi. I wonder if there is a clash there.
Too bad, I was so looking forward to using your beautiful, simple plugin! Thanks!

    Hi Susan,

Don’t know if this is caused by divi, but I do know my plugin only uses native functions to display stuff like an exerpt. So if a theme or plugin hooks into this native function, my plugin will be affected too. To find out if that’s the case here, de-activate theme or that plugin and try again.

In case of 404 errors, please resave permalinks. If that doesn’t work, please try the default WP permalink settings. Or give me a site link so I can see for myself.

Without examples (such as URL of website) I cannot give further support..
