Still get Enable referers after fixes offered: help with next tactic needed
-
All,
I get the error managing my 5th grade classroom blog. Most often (maybe all, now that I think of it…) come when moderating my student’s comments or posts and clicking the Publish or approve, whatever, buttons…
I did lots of searches inside WordPress support and out. I followed those steps I could do on my own PC. I have tried the easier fixes, trying both IE6 and FireFox2.0 setting changes suggested.
The next step is commenting out some code lines at the server, which I get in the abstract as, like others, I did this with the older DOS and Windows OS’s. However, now I guess I have to modify my host’s WP folders. Before I try this I have to make sure I understand what’s involved.
My host has WP 2.0.2, I believe. What tool allows me to see the code in my host’s server in a different state? Is the folder with that code installed INSIDE my own [paid] web space and therefore changes affect only my implementation?
Why did this suddenly start happening? Reading a couple of year’s worth of posts never resolved what changes can trigger this behavior. I don’t lard up FireFox with extensions, and it’s occurring with IE, too. (I have made changes to the ZoneAlarm Pro suite. Come to think of it, this may have started with a Zone Alarm Pro upgrade or renewal.
But I know I have to upgrade SO MUCH stuff on my machine every couple of days that trying to be sure which change was the culprit will be pretty hard to prove.I will post several other questions in separate posts. I
