Still getting installation page after creating local copy of WP site

Hi,
I’ve got a copy of my blog set up on a linux manchine using LAMP. The install seemed to go ok and I’ve created a local DB instance from a backup of my live instance, updating all of the links so that they reference localhost, and updated wp-config.php ho the local settings but whenever I try to go to the home page of my blog, I still get the auto-installation page. Any pointers for what I can look at for why this is happening?
