  • See https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/issues/132, https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/issues/22 and I’m sure there are other thread on this forum for it.

It’s always good to check first. Together, we have more pull.

    Hi @galbaras

Yes – I actually started/commented on both of the threads you mention (I am Twig Interactive); in fact I started a thread waaaaay back when he removed the sort function in 2.3.6. We have no pull because he never seems to reply to threads via any medium. Not even just to say “stop bothering me” ??

Well, it IS a free plugin. Our choice is between using it and using something else. Personally, I’m too invested in it already, so when the order matters, I delete the rule I want to move and re-enter it.

Another way would be to edit the priority field in the database, I guess.

An interesting way would be to grab the code from 2.3.6, package it as a separate plugin (after adapting and testing) and then making it available via wp.org. I’m sure many people will appreciate this, including me ??

Looking again at wp.org and github, he’s actually responding, including during the last 24 hours, albeit not to everything. I’ve sent him a couple of tweets, one directly about the sorting feature, so let’s give him some time to respond.

The plugin is free, after all…

There was a start to fork the code I think but it stopped and I’m too busy to take that on. I did offer the author $ for a ‘pro’ version with this feature – no reply. Hopefully you will get lucky!

Also the plugin still has the original ‘priority’ field from pre 2.3.6 – so I would think a simple jQuery UI drag/drop reorder to update this field value, then a tweak to the SQL processing the rules would be all it would take.
