Sounds like you might be logging in under a different domain then the frontend of the site is on. This is an issue with domain mapping. You won’t see the admin bar on the site either. Basically you have log into the same domain the the website is on or the wordpress function is_user_logged_in does not work properly.

I tried both the main URL and the site’s URL but both still show the Coming soon page.

I login, disable the coming soon mode, refresh the front end and enable the coming soon mode again. I can view the site until I logout.

But each time I login, I have to go live once which is not something I would want to do.

    Any idea?

Might be a caching issue, try clearing you caches. In the past this has always been a cookie issue , the login cookie is on a different domain then the frontend.

    No luck yet.
It’s weird I am using Firefox mostly but I just tried it on Chrome.
I cleared the cache, opened the site to see the front page.
Logged in and still seeing the coming soon page, Refreshed the page a few time too. hm…

Thanks for the quick replies by the way.

Does it work when you try it?

    Does what, where work?

I mean have you tried the same on a Multisite and worked for you?
Why is not not working for me when I clear the cache?

Yep I have a couple of multisites using it. Not sure why it’s not on yours.

I’m having the same exact issue – logged into the primary domain of my multisite and still seeing the coming soon page on the frontend. It removes the black WP bar at the top as well, so it seems to really think I’m logged out.

I have two other sites on my network that are not using the coming soon page. If I navigate over to them, the black WP admin bar returns to the top of the frontend. So, it must be an issue with the plugin having difficulty recognizing login status on sites that it is active.

This is problem is an issue with domain mapping on multisite. When you login on one domain in the back end then navigate to a new domain on the front end the issue occurs.

This is a known issue with domain mapping in general. You need to login on the same url in which you want to view the site.

I login with each site’s URL but still see the coming soon page.
I cleared cache and history but no change.

    Thanks

Thanks. The reason I think it could be a bug is that when I disable the coming soon checkbox and view the site, I will see my site.
Then I enable the checkbox again and the problem doesn’t exist any more.
The public sees the coming soon page and I see my site as a logged in user.

This works but I have to go live for a second, view the site and then disable it every time I want to login.

    Thanks

Sorry without being on your server I can’t tell the issue. The plugin has been tested on multisite and works. The only known issue is with domain mapping.

My multi-site network is set up using subdirectories and the plugin works for any of the subdirectory sites, but doesn’t seem to work for the primary domain. I’ve tried logging out and only logging in through the primary domain, but I still see the coming soon screen. To reiterate, I’m not using domain mapping, just the default subdirectory set up.
