    Hi folks,

for me, it seems, that the planning of a post will reduce the social share count. I have planned one post and the count was reduced by 2 (for facebook and twitter) … so far it is OK.

But today, this planned post was published and now my social share count was reduced again (from 6 to 4) …

    Could you please inform me,

    1. in what case (planning or publishing) the count should be reduced?
    2. at what date will the count be restored to 30?

    Thanks in advance

    Joerg

    Hi @saarfuchs

It doesn’t reset in that there isn’t a specific date that you get 30 new shares, it just limits you to 30 shares in the past 30 days. So for example:

    April 10th – 10 shares used (20 remaining)

    April 15th – 10 shares used (10 remaining)

    April 20th – 10 shares used (0 remaining)

On May 11th, those first 10 shares will no longer be in the past 30 days, so you would have 10 shares available again.

    Does that make sense?

Is there any way to check the behavior? Is there some logging, where I could see when the share count is changed to what reason?

To clarify, when you say planning a post, do you mean you are scheduling the post to be published at a later date or time?

I tested Jetpack Social with scheduled posts, and did not see a reduction in available shares after scheduling the post (before the post was published).

So that we can look into this in more detail, please contact us via this contact form. Please include a link to this forum thread when you do.

    Thanks!
