Stock Not Reducing on Some Pre-Orders

    Good Day Everyone,

    I want to start by saying that this Plugin was a great solution for us since the WooCommerce Pre-Order Plugin only allowed you to pre-order one product at a time.

    I have not had any problems until recently with this plugin. I run a Nerdy eCommerce website for Trading Card Games. We had a BIG release last weekend and we ran into a problem of product going negative after shipping.

    After researching I found that about a 1/4th of my orders did not reduce the stock of the items pre-ordered until after the item was shipped. Meaning if I had 40 items in stock before the order, I still had 40 in stock after the order was paid for.

    I did some more digging and found that this was only for pre-ordered items, it did not affect orders with items available the day of the order. It also affected multiple items meaning that was not a problem with only one product.

    Looking for some help since I am unable to figure it out on my own.

    I have done as requested. I went back further to see when this started happening and it happened with the very first order that was placed with your plug-in on 7/28/21. Below is the text from the Notifications from that order

    The Stock level should have been reduced at the beginning, not the end when it was shipped.

    After doing Further Research, I have found that the root of the problem is that while the order is in “Pre-Ordered” Status, the stock can not be updated. Below I changed one of the orders to On Hold and the Stock Level Reduced.

    Is there a way to allow the stock to change while in Pre-Order Status or how would you like to proceed from here? Below is an example of how a properly working Pre Order records notes.
