    Hello,

I came across a strange behavior in woocommerce.
I will describe the steps because I can not find any error to track it down.

I use “quick edit” to change the price of some of my products and when I want to change also the category of a product. After some editing in products (at least half an hour but it’s not always the same), if I try to quick edit a product the product status changes to “Out of stock” by itself, and if I don’t notice it then I can hit the save and the product would be out of stock.

This started to happen with the latest release of woo-commerce. WordPress installation is also on the latest version. I checked the console but no errors occurred and also in the server, there are no errors again. I also deactivated all the plugins and started made the standard WordPress debugging process but still, the error persists.

Is there any solution to this? Or what do you suggest?

    Best Regards

    Hello @stevendigital,

If I understood correctly, the product stocks are being set to Out of stock when you try to quick edit the products.

I just tried to reproduce the issue with different product types on my test site but I wasn’t able to replicate the behavior.

Given that this is not reproducible in my testing nor are there any other reports of this on our issue tracker, I am left to believe that the behavior on your site is caused by something external to WooCommerce.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have done the known debugging process for issues in WordPress before the post and as I said there was no conflict.

But with further investigation on the issue, I have found out that if I use Quick Edit on a product that already has its value set as out of stock then the same Value will pass to all the other products that I will use the Quick Edit option.

For example, I use Quick Edit on product A that already has its value in Out of stock. Doesn’t matter if I hit the Save or the Cancel button.
If I use Quick Edit in product B (That already has its stock value set to In stock)
I will see the Stock status change to Out of Stock.

Tested on 3 installations with Plugins and no plugins and the issue appeared in all of them.

With this new info is there any fix for this?

    Best Regards

    Hi @stevendigital

I ran a test on my test site with the steps that you mentioned to see if I can replicate the behavior.

It is definitely something that I couldn’t replicate. I used Quick Edit on an out of stock product cancelled it without any changes. Went to a different product and quick edit without any changes. The stock remained the same for the second product.

Here is a short clip from my test:

Please do the conflict test as my colleague mentioned above to see if this behavior is caused by any conflict on your site. Make sure to switch the theme to a default theme as well.

If the behavior still exists, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hello,

Sorry for my late response. For some reason, the AdBlock plugin in Google Chrome was making some errors.

As I referred on my previous answer, I already had done the debugging, by deactivating the plugins to see if there was any conflict.

So for future mention, I would suggest if anyone sees something similar to try to log in from Incognito mode first and check without any plugins/extensions(of Chrome) active.
