Stop duplicate images from posts

  • I’m wondering if there is a known way to prevent the same image based on file name from being published in a post.

    Something along the lines of..

    Yesterday I post
    Title: Fun stuff

    Featured image: funstuff.jpg

    Content:

    I found this cool stuff etc etc…

    25 posts later the next week

    An author to my site trys to use the funstuff.jpg to discuss something else.

    Instead he gets a warning “can’t use funstuff.jpg it’s already used once”

    How would I go about coding this?
