• I’ve supposedly updated the setting but continue to receive emails, including the advice: “To change your email preferences please visit the plugin settings.”

Compared to the other, more serious posts here this is a mere annoyance – yet I’d like the messages to stop once and for all.

Suggestion: Reorganize all notifications into 1 section and/or tab for greater convenience & management.

  • When you remove your email address from the Notification Email option in the Global Settings section under the Settings tab, emails should stop.

But only if you subsequently click on the “Save All Changes” button …
(And one needs to scroll a fair bit down to find the button so sometimes I forget …)

    Correction …

One would also need to remove any email address(es) specified in the “Backup Delivery Email” option.

Umm, then if that’s the case, the plugin is “all or nothing” – the alerts ‘feature’ then is rendered completely useless. I may have to simply create a filter for incoming mail, and check occasionally to see if the site has been breached.

    I disagree.

Since there is a seperate “Backup Delivery Email” option its not all or nothing. So removing your email address from the “Notification Email” option
will stop most emails but not all.

And there is another option named “Send Digest Email” which controls the amount of emails being send.
All three mentioned options are neatly organized together under Global Settings.

You might disagree, but the fact is: removing emails disables the “email alert” functionality completely. Simply stated, there is no way to control *each* type of notification, which is why I see a poor user interface design, and suggest this gets some attention/love.

They are not “neatly organized” – in fact, they are within the same section but not together, and not explained. For improvement, editing the message with additional verbiage such as “Leave this blank to …” would help. Furthermore, relocating the email address used for backups (if desired) and “File Change Notifications” would also improve clarity.

Thanks, dwinden, for replying and working to improve the plugin!
