• Hi, thanks for the great plugin!

We have a couple thousand posts on our site and when I finished setting up this plugin, it started to post some of our oldest posts to our FB page. Is it designed to “catch up” on all the posts on the WP site by syncing them all to FB?

I’d like to set it to only sync new posts to FB. Is that possible?

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi sgridley,

The plugin should not post old articles to FB on its own. But if you modify/republish an existing article that was is not already published on FB, it will be published on FB by default (depending on your plugin settings).

To fix this problem, could you tell me what you did before these old articles were posted on FB ?

    Thank you,

Then I guess it might be one of my other plugins. I have plugins that automatically crosslink our articles based on tags and another one that helps autocreate meta info for SEO.

It’s possible one of these plugins is modifying my posts which then triggers this plugin to sync it FB. I’ll have to try an on-demand FB plugin.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Actually, just found the checkbox for “Post to Facebook” so I turned off the auto-publish and I’ll be fine using the manual post method.

Not sure if it has been requested yet, but I’d like to be able to post the comments from the post at the same time I publish the post. The posts I am publishing are posts from “Ask Our Experts” and we answer those questions within the comments attached to the post. So having both post and comments on FB would be very useful.

    Thanks again!

    Hi sgridley,

Comment synchronization is somehow possible, but the results are not optimal IMHO. This plugin https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/add-link-to-facebook/ seems to support it.

Perhaps I will add something like this to Facebook Page Publish, but it will not be any time soon (there are other more important features on the list).

    Thanks for sharing your ideas!
