Stop Mouse Over on Submenu Item

    I’m trying to figure out the code required to stop the mouse over of the submenu when someone clicks on the “For Police Moms” menu item.

    Does anyone know the CSS needed to stop that?

    I want the submenu to appear when someone clicks on it. Is that even possible?

    Tech Specs
    WordPress: 6.1.1
    Theme: 2023 v1.0
    Elementor (not sure it matters but its in use on the site): v3.9.0

    Hi @pcosta88 – if you are using the Site Editor, there’s a built-in option on the Navigation block to have the submenus open on click instead of on hover:

    If you’re planning to use Elementor’s site builder to build your navigation menus instead of the core Site Editor, you’d need to reach out to them to ask if this is possible.

    I think I actually spoke too soon. I enabled the feature and the submenu menu item opens on a click but I cannot click the main menu item “For Police Moms” see https://pasteboard.co/f9T8ivu9iMlf.png

    Hi @pcosta88 You are right indeed, this looks like a bug! I’ve reported it here:

    Since I don’t know when the bug will be addressed, you might want to remove the “on click” behaviour for now. Other alternatives could be to switch to another theme – in my testing, Twenty Twenty-Two does not have this issue – or try a block theme-compatible menu plugin.

    Thanks for the suggestions and the bug report. Yay bugs….

    I’ll poke around and see if any best meet my client’s needs.
