    Hi @jvdhelder,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I’m sorry about the frustration here, it’s not our intent to cause clutter. Email Summaries are enabled by default for website owners who aren’t aware of them and can benefit greatly. We understand not everyone may need these emails, and so the feature can be switched off at ExactMetrics ? Settings ? Advanced ? Email Summaries.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Thank you.

    Hi @devmich,

Why you don’t disable it back? I don’t asked to enable it. Now I have to sign in for every site which I am hosting. It cost me a lot of time / money to do that because of you.

    Hi @jvdhelder,

By including email summaries alongside other useful features like tracking critical site statistics (such as page views in the last 30 days, top posts and pages, etc.) and custom event tracking (telephone and email click tracking, affiliate and outbound link tracking), as well as additional tools like popular posts and site notes, we aim to offer more value to our Lite (free) users.

That being said, we acknowledge that email summaries may not be well-suited for all use cases, and we genuinely apologize for any frustration it has caused.

We truly appreciate you for taking the time to share your experience with us. If you would like to share anything else, please let me know and I’ll be happy to forward your feedback to the team.

    Thank you.

I can not pay our work hours with your apologies. It should be opt-in and not opt-out. I never signed up for your reports. This is a privacy law in the EU.

    Hi @jvdhelder,

Thank you for your concern over the opt-in/opt-out. The ExactMetrics monthly email summary is an automatic opt-in. This can still be disabled by going to the settings as previously mentioned.

However, when it comes to your concern, as the summary is generated only on your website as well as being sent to yourself, this does comply with WordPress privacy standards. This has been confirmed with the WordPress moderation team.

As the email summary is generated on your site and is sent from your site, we do not see any information, not even the receiving email address, and no data touches any of our servers, this does comply as you are generating it yourself.

If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach out to us via our support page https://www.exactmetrics.com/contact/, where you can also review our privacy policy, linked in the footer.

    Thank you,
    Tim

Now I have to login to every site which I am hosting, I will looking for another plugin and delete yours. It is unbelievable that you are doing this: (1) start mailing summaries without my permission and (2) using my admin email address via the domain name of the website to send those mails! That causes spam troubles.

This is terrible too, and the plugin won’t let me disable the summaries either. So it’s opt-in (anti-consumer design) default, and I can’t disable it (also anti-consumer design). So basically, they have a way to email you and refuse to stop. That’s gotta be breaking some spam law right?

Everytime i go to ExactMetrics -> Advanced -> Email Summaries and try to toggle off “Enable Email Summaries” it just says “You need to connect ExactMetrics first”… You didn’t need to connect to spam me, why do I need to connect to disable it?

@gmariani405 You can better look for another plugin so we won’t support this terrible plugin.

Or just add this to your child theme:

    wp_clear_scheduled_hook( 'exactmetrics_usage_tracking_cron' ); wp_clear_scheduled_hook( 'exactmetrics_email_summaries_cron' );

It will remove the tasks to send emails forms exact metrics.
