I am going insane trying to work this out. I’ve looked inside and out and top to bottom of Sharing Settings but made zero progress.

I’ve searched wordpress.com forums and found endless posts on sharing posts to Twitter but nothing to stop the automated publishing of new posts via wordpress.com. So I look in wordpress.com for settings (that makes sense as WordPress.com is sharing it), but it just takes me to the settings page on my site that I’ve gone through in the finest detail over and over again. I’ve searched here for the same thing found nothing but posts promoting sharing plugins.

Everything in the “Sharing Settings” page appears 100% correct according to all the advice I’ve read, until I look at my Twitter feed and find published posts that I didn’t want shared. Search engine indexing is marked in “Reading Settings” as discouraged.

The blog I need help with is ianmayman.com.

I dare not publish anything until this is resolved. Thank you for any help you can offer.

  • Are you using JetPack ?

Yes I do have Jetpack installed. The options to configure Sharing and to configure Publicize both just open the “Sharing Settings page”. Ahhh…. I just found the WP.me Shortlinks section in Jetpack, and hidden behind the “Learn More” button I found I could deactivate it. ?? Hopefully that has sorted it. Thank you for your help.
