It’s really getting annoying all these unwanted messages and Notifications in the WP dashboard. Is there a way to switch these off?

    Hello Tastymouse,

If you would like to hide the notifications, you can go to your WP admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar) > General > Dashboard Tab > and click on the ‘eye logo with a slash’ next to the relevant notification and it should move to the hidden notifications.

Yes and the next day it’s there again or another notification. It’s like spam and it’s annoying.

    @maybellyne it doesn’t work

It’s more aggressive than ever and really annoying. Even if you want to get rid of it by clicking on the “eye”, it comes back real quick!
There must be a problem with your notifications. It’s never been like this, no other plugin does that.

I will complain everywhere about it, till you stop! You should’nt be allowed to do that!

We all get your messages. No need to be aggressive about it. Is like a fist in my throat. REALLY ANNOYING.

We understand the frustration you have regarding the notifications from the Yoast SEO menu dashboard.

When you click on the ‘eye’ to dismiss and hide the notification, we would expect that it wouldn’t reappear again the very next day. Just to clarify, could you provide us with a screenshot (by uploading an image on snipboard.io or a similar site) and share a link here on which specific notification it is, so we can try and check this further?

Or is this occurring for different kinds of notifications?

This one is getting back regularly: https://snipboard.io/erTjLk.jpg
but there are also more and more ads for Yoast products and services.

As you’re using Yoast SEO basic version, seeing ads on the Yoast SEO pages on the sidebar is expected. Just FYI, Yoast SEO Premium is ad-free.

However, regarding notification recurring even after hiding via eye icon, perhaps it could be due to cache or some other reasons. We’re unable to replicate it on our default setup with the default 2020 theme and Yoast plugin.

Can you check it under the following situations once more?

    – Are any JavaScript errors appearing?
    – Does the issue resolve if you clear your cache and cookies?
    – Does the issue resolve if you use a different browser such as Chrome or FireFox or Safari?
    – If you have any browser plugins/extensions, does disabling them resolve the issue?

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.

I have the exact same issue. Clicking the Eye will make the message disapear but the next time I login it’s back.

It’s always the same message, telling me to enable auto-updates (which I do not want to enable)

    Very very anoying indeed!

I use wp-rockt cache plugin and maybe Yoast should check if this causes the issue.
