Stop WP from redirecting to “Homepage”
-
Ok, well I run my own web server, and have installed WP on it, etc etc, my domain is still pending(Paypal) so for now I’m just distributing the ip/DDNS Subdomain.
But I’ve run into a problem, because of the WordPress URL:, and Homepage URL:
settings in the Options menu, whenever I try to go to the site from a computer on the local network(one that’s plugged into the same router as the server) WP tries to redirect me to my IP adress, bleh, I got even myself confused, here’s a test diagram,
-Server PC IP is 130.200.1.103(Local IP)
-My Workstation IP is 130.200.1.100
-My WAN IP is 24.85.230.60In the WP settings, when I set the Homepage URL to https://130.200.1.103, I can get in from anywhere on the Local network(my workstation)BUT noone else on the internet can(It tries to redirect them to 130.200.1.103)
When I set the homepage url to https://24.85.230.60 everyone else can get on, as it redirects to a valid place, but when I try and get in from the local network(workstation) it redirs me to 24.85.230.60 and I get a “Connection timed out”
So I’m just wondering if anyone knows of a method to disable the redirecting so that I can still get in from the local network, while others can get in from the WAN.As of right now, I’m using a WiFi adapter to piggyback off a neighbor so I can get into wordpress and actually post, but as you should understand, I can’t go on like this forever.
Thanks in advance for any and all help, don’t hesitate to ask if my explanation is missing something.
