I’ve created a new database to push the staging site (clone of my main site) to my main site. However, the data only appears up till a certain date and not beyond.

I’ve tried reinstalling/resetting the plugin so far. On Google Analytics, in Data Streams, I get this message “Data collection isn’t active for your website. If you installed tags more than 48 hours ago, make sure they are set up correctly.”

@hyperbrid When viewing your source code I can see the gtag script placed with the property UA-******270-3. This script is not placed in the <head> tag of your site. This tag is supposed to be placed within the <head> tag of your site. Could you try moving this to the <head> section of your source code and let me know if that makes a difference>?

It seems to work for the homepage but not the rest of the pages. Isn’t handling all of the pages the plugin’s purpose?

It’s also showing me data from Jan 31st somehow.

@hyperbrid If you were to place the manual snippet in your header.php then this should cover all pages of your site. Did you specifically place this on the homepage? If so, could you try switching it to the header.php template and let me know if that then places on all pages for you?

Do you have any data in your Analytics for February at this time?

Yes, in the home page. Only added the <head> tag in the HTML widget shown in the previous video.

What is the header.php template? Would it work if I add this to the Header.php in the SiteKit folder?

Yes, I have analytics for february.

@hyperbrid header.php is one of the theme files for your site. If you add the code snippet for your Analytics here then it should apply to all pages on your site. You can check this Hostinger guide on how you can edit this theme file.

I added the code in the <head> tag of the header.php for my current theme: Astra. It still shows the rest of the pages all grouped with the title “/”.

Many thanks for the update. I’ve checked your site and I can indeed see a valid snippet placed, not just on your homepage but also on the other pages I checked.

I also checked your site using tagssistant.google.com service, and I can confirm the snippet is tracking and working as expected, nice work.

Regarding the URLs showing a / on your Analytics dashboard, from reviewing your site it looks like you’re permalinks are using a query paramater, for example see below:
    https://***siteurl***.com/?page_id=1381

If you change your permalink settings to something different, for example post name, then I suspect there won’t be any such issues when viewing your Analytics data, with the full path showing. This is more a question for the product experts over a the Analytics Help Center, but please do give it a try and let me know how you get on.

Glad to hear it @hyperbrid. Many thanks for sharing this update. If you have any further Site Kit queries be sure to reach out. As you’ve been a Site Kit user for some time please also consider sharing your thoughts on the plugin. Best of luck!
