    Hi,

I’m hoping you can help me, please?

I am currently testing Local Inventory Ads in Google Merchant Centre. After submitting my test feed I get the following error:

Invalid or missing required attribute: store code

This store code needs to match the same code as the GMB store identifier. There is more information on Google’s Official Documentation for this requirement.

Are you able to update your plugin, please, to include the store_code attribute with a static value that we can set in our feeds or can you provide me with some code to add a custom filter in my functions.php file, for now, that would allow me to test this while you update the plugin? ( Whichever is easiest for you )

    Kind regards,

    Simon

    Hello Simon,

Strange I have not read about the store_code attribute before. I’ll have a look at that.

For now, you could add the store_code by adding it to the following text file:

    ‘wp-content/plugins/wp-product-feed-manager/includes/application/google/google.txt’.

Add “85 0 store_code” (without quotation marks and tabs between the columns) at the end of the document. IMPORTANT! make sure there is NO (empty) line behind the new line. So the new line should be the last line.

After that you should have the store_code in your optional attributes list.

    Hi @michel-jongbloed,

    Thanks for the code!

I added it as per your instructions and this is the resulting file.

However, the Store Code custom option is not appearing in Feed Manager. Interestingly, if you look at this screenshot the subscription_cost and subscription_cost-amount also seem to be missing from the custom options, even though they are present in the google.txt file.

    Kind regards,

    Simon

I can’t get access to both the file and the screenshot.

Could you send them to michel (at) wpmarketingrobot.com?

    Hi @michel-jongbloed,

Sorry! My fault…didn’t allow the link sharing to be public. That should be both links working now.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @harpo1984,

Sorry, I see I made a mistake in the line to add to the txt file. It should be:

    85 4 store_code

As for the subscription_cost and subscription_cost-amount, they are only available for surtain countries and should come in the list when you select a target country for which the subscription_cost is available. The only issue is that this list of countries is recently updated by Google and that update has not been implemented in our plugin. But if you select Germany, France or GB as target country you should see them in the list.

    Hi @michel-jongbloed

I adjusted the code, thanks for that!

Unfortunately, it did not work and the Store Code is still not listed for me to choose from.

( Also, the target country for both Feeds in the website is the United Kingdom but subscription_cost and subscription_cost-amount still don’t appear )

Thanks for all the help so far!

    Kind regards,

    Simon

    Hello Simon,

For me the code also did not work but changing the 0 to 4 did the trick.
Maybe you need to deactivate the plugin and reactivate it again?!

    Hi @aukejomm

Thanks for verifying this. Unfortunately, even after deactivating and reactivating the plugin, the store_code doesn’t appear as an option in either of my feeds.

    ( The same goes for subscription_cost and subscription_cost-amount )

    Kind regards,

    Simon

Strange, I did test it out and I do get all these attributes.

Just to give it a try, could you refresh your browser using CNTRL-F5 to clear the cache and see if that helps?

I will make an update to the plugin asap.

    Hi @michel-jongbloed

I tried it and set up a staging site with the edited code and still no luck.

Can I email you about this using the address you provided so I can send some private information, please?

    Kind regards,

    Simon

    Yes, no problem.

    @harpo1984,

Am I correct in that I have not yet received an email from you?

But I also have a question regarding the Local Inventory Ads Feed. In principle our free version of this plugin only supports Google Product Feeds and as far as I can see the store_code is not an attribute that fits in that Product Feeds. So basically it would be wrong for me to add this attribute to our plugin. And if I do, you’re still missing other attributes like the id, pickup_methode and pickup_sla.

I’m fine if you add them manually to the .txt file, but I’m hesitant to add them to the formal release of our plugin as it does not match the intent of the plugin (to produce Google Product Feeds)

I would like to propose to leave the plugin as it is and see if we can get your manual insertion of the required attributes working.

    Thread Starter harpo1984

    (@harpo1984)

    Hi @michel-jongbloed,

Sorry, yes you are correct, no email received yet ( I wanted to make a video to highlight the issue and process )

Google considers the Local Inventory Ads Feed as part of the Google Product Feeds ( in my understanding ) Google call it a supplementary feed.

When testing the feed the only error thrown is: Invalid or missing required attribute: store code

So I assume the other attributes you mention can be set and controlled within Merchant Centre. ( Although I have not spotted those )

I still can’t get the store_code to show with the manual code but if there are no plans to add it to the free plugin ( which I completely understand ) then I will remove the code anyway as it will be overwritten each time the plugin updates.

Thank you very much for your time and @aukejomm time on this.

    Kind regards,

    Simon

Yes the Local Inventory Ads Feed is part of the Google Product Feeds, but so are the “Google Merchant Promotions Feed”, “Google Remarketing”, “Google Local Products” and “Google Product Review Feed”. So there are a lot of support feeds and they are all very different. (for now) We only support the main Google Product Feed.

But I do think that if the store_code is the only missing attribute, it would still be a viable option to just manually add it to the text file, make a backup of it and for any updates just copy the backup back to the Google folder again.

But that’s up to you of course :-).

Let us know if you want to use this option so we can try to get it working, or if you want to leave it as it is and we can close your topic.

    (@harpo1984)

    Hi @michel-jongbloed,

Apologies, I was not aware of those other supplementary feeds.

It has been a long time since I used Merchant Centre, I’m just the tech contact working with a marketer.

We will leave things as they are for now.

Thanks again for all your help.

    Kind regards,

    Simon
