I’m using the Unite Theme right now: https://colorlib.com/wp/unite/

My goal is to have a store page but I don’t want to do the transaction through my website. I want the store to look like a regular online store. You know, with a grid like view with maybe 4 items across and being able to scroll down through more items. The catch is, when you click on the item I’d like it to either go to a description page that then has a link to where we actually sell the item or when you click the link it takes you straight to the site where we actually sell the item. Hopefully that makes sense.

What’s the best way to go about this? Thanks!

    I’ll detail each below.

I’d like it to either go to a description page that then has a link to where we actually sell the item

In that case, just create a page with the content and link you want. Your theme will likely automatically include pages in its menu, so that will be super quick and simple. If it doesn’t, see below.

or when you click the link it takes you straight to the site where we actually sell the item

To do that you’ll need to build a custom menu rather than allow the theme to build the menu automatically: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/WordPress_Menu_User_Guide

When you build the menu, simply enter your store link as a Custom Link.

If you’d rather do the first method, but the theme isn’t automatically adding your page, this is also how you’ll build a custom menu and add the page.

Do you know if there is a template store page? To start, I’d like to just have a store page that has a grid like display of all of our items with thumbnail pictures.

I’m sorry if this is simple questions, I’ve built some blogs before but I am new to the whole store side of things.

That would depend on the theme you’re using. It may have a store template if it’s designed to tie into eCommerce plugins, otherwise probably not.

OK so I installed the WooCommerce plug in, and I like how it makes product pages and a store page. Almost exactly what I want. Would you know how to make it so from the store page, when you click on one of the products it will go to another website as opposed to the product page?

    Thanks!

That’s a question better asked at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce#postform so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this. ??
