• Since the last update to the software my shop is no longer working as it should.

I foolishly followed the store setup process and that also seems to have caused me problems to a shop that had hitherto worked perfectly well.

I have entered the “Shop” address as my location on France where I live but the shop is virtual, only exists online and is restricted to the UK. The system does not allow me to specify this and so overwrote all my currency and tax settings. I have changed these back manually once I found where they were but for some reason I now cannot get the tax calculations to work properly.

In settings:tax I have nominated prices “including tax”, asked for the shop prices to be shown including tax and the basket to be shown excluding tax.

The latter two are working but the first one is not. So a price of 7.77 (inc tax) entered in the product details (setting) page should show as 7.77 on the product shop page and 6.475 in the basket for tax breakdown purposes. However even though it shows as 7.77 on the product details (setting) page, it shows as 9.32 on the shop page (7.77 plus 20%) and 7.77 in the basket that then has tax added to also give 9.32.

Consequently all my prices are showing 20% too high in the shop.

Is anyone else experiencing this and can anyone tell me how to either correct it or let woo commerce know the problem I am having?

    Thanks,

    Geoff

  • Contact your host and retrieve your backup of your site to right before you committed yourself to follow the set-up. That should resolved the issue and returned your site to an earlier working condition that works perfectly for you.

    Thanks Makinee,

I am the host and I have done that but it goes through the same process of telling me to upgrade and then breaking the tax system.

I am raising this in the hope that instead of a work around (which I can put in place if necessary) woocommerce might investigate and give me a solution that works with the latest version.

Any woo commerce gurus out there?
