Storefront – Get rid of Powered by WordPress

Hi guys,

Using WooCommerce 2.6.7 with Storefront 2.1.5

I created a child theme with an “empty” style.css sheet except for
@import url("../storefront/style.css");

For some reason, the previous storefront footer disappeared and now my site is showing the class “powered by WordPress” footer.

I’d like to change it, or at least get rid of it and I can’t figure out how.

Normally I plug into the style.css file the following code :

.site-info {
  display: none;
}

But it won’t work.

Any ideas?
