• Hello,
I’ve had to remove the Power Pack plugin, so I’ve lost the ability to hide the New In, Fan Favorites, Best Sellers and On Sale sections on the home page. I only want the page to display the category archive section below my text, so it will have a grid of images for each category to click. (It was designed that way when I had Power Pack). Changing the theme template to Default doesn’t work. I really don’t want to use a plugin, there are too many conflict issues. Can someone help with some php code or other way to edit the template and hide these blocks? I’m using a child theme. I’m not a developer but am comfortable editing php or css files. I’ve looked all over online and everyone says use a plugin. Looking for a permanent solution, no plugin if at all possible. Thank you!

    Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the quick reply. Woocommerce blocks looks very handy and I can definitely use it in general. It doesn’t seem to have an option for a category archive (with images) like we have now, the plugin page says it has a category list. We need an archive block that has only the image icon for each category in a grid. No titles or text.

The current Front Page automatically displays the blocks I don’t want, so I am hoping using a Function or Action to hide them would work.

Also, just to clarify – I need to build a whole new page?
That’s a great solution, I’ll do that if I can figure out how to make a Category archive block like our current one with images.
    Thank you.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the next version of storefront blocks has a square grid category block (with images). This should be out next week, but if you want to try out the beta let me know.

    Hi Jamie,
Storefront blocks looks fantastic – what a time saver! The Category blocks will solve my problem, and the other blocks will be super handy for embedding products in blog posts, etc. So I think we’re on board.
I do have one hesitation – I just spent two months in a nightmare of plugin compatibility issues trying to set up WPTouch. It’s incompatible with Storefront Powerpack, so I had to delete that and recreate all the site customization manually. WPTouch still isn’t working perfectly, I’m still trying to get an image slider working perfectly. So I’m concerned about Storefront Blocks being compatible with WPTouch – do you know if anyone is using them together? It seems like there shouldn’t be an issue, since WPTouch creates a new version of the site. I’m willing to give it a try – any thoughts? Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks – i’m really proud of storefront blocks, so im glad you like it ??

I don’t actually know of anyone using wptouch with storefront blocks but as you say wptouch creates a new version so it should work. We have a trial option so you can try it out risk free ??

That said all our blocks are designed with mobile in mind, so you might not need wptouch ??

    Jamie
