Storefront Product Categories etc. not showing on Homepage

Hi there. My Product Categories (Recent Products) are not displaying at all on my homepage. I am running the Woocommerce Storefront theme (under a child theme) and also have the Homepage control plugin (with the relevant sections ticked) – but the categories refuse to appear on the homepage. Categories etc. all display as expected in the shop. Any ideas? Thank you
