    Hi

I am experiencing two “issues” with the mobile display of the navigation in Storefront theme; I am working on a custom child, but the behaviour described is Storefront.

First is a follow-up on this
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/navigation-issue-on-mobile/

How could I have the “shop” element display when the shop page is set to be the homepage.

Second is that the menu items are displayed in alphabetical order, and not as set in the WP menu.

This is the desktop display as set in the WP menu settings

    home | my-cat(dropdown) | cart | my account | chekout | shop

    my-cat(dropdown) items
    privacy
    about us

This is the mobile menu when toggled

    home
    about us
    cart
    checkout
    my account
    privacy

    It should be

    home
    my-cat (dropdown)
        privacy
        about us
    cart
    my account
    checkout
    shop

    How would I achieve it?

    Thank you.

  • Hey @keneso,

I have gone ahead and responded to your open topic here:

Second is that the menu items are displayed in alphabetical order, and not as set in the WP menu.

Have you checked “Handheld” for the menu you would like displayed on mobile, as suggested in my response on your open topic here?

If not, can you try that and see if the mobile menu is now displaying correctly on your end?

    Cheers!

    Hi Roxy

    Thank you.

I have gone ahead and responded to your open topic here:

Yeah, I saw it, I had opened this before your comment, which solved it, such a simple fix, shem on me; although I am curious about the ratio to differentiate the two menus.

    Cheers

    Hey @keneso,

Glad this has been sorted ??

although I am curious about the ratio to differentiate the two menus.

I can see that an answer has been provided to this same question on your other topic here:

“it’s primarily for better user experience and navigation on different devices.

On a desktop, you typically have more screen real estate to work with, so you can afford to display more menu items. However, on mobile, space is limited, and too many menu items can make the navigation cluttered and confusing. That’s why we provide the option to set a separate, more streamlined menu for handheld devices.

It also gives you the flexibility to prioritize certain pages on mobile, perhaps ones that mobile users are more likely to need quick access to.”

Since this has been resolved, feel free to create a new topic if you need any further help with the Storefront theme.

Also, if you have a minute, we’d love it if you would leave us a review:

    Cheers!
