Storify embed won't work in side widget on IE

This isn’t really a Storify plugin question per se, but maybe someone here has the answer…
I have put embed code for a slideshow from Storify into a side widget. It displays fine on Firefox, but on IE it doesn’t show up. Either nothing shows up at all (if I have enclosed it in <p> tags) or only a black box shows up (if I delete the <p> tags). Is there a fix for this?
