Storing form data in the database

  • Hi,

    I’m quite new to wordpress. I am trying to create a form, which I would like to include with a shortcode. I would then like visitor data such as name, email & message to be stored in the wordpress database. Do I need to create a new table to store this data?

  • You don’t need to, but it would be highly advisable. The main reasons for this is that you won’t be poluting the tables that are there now, and that if you keep it in it’s own table you can index and search them a lot more easily.
