story_description removed?

  • It looks like somewhere between version 4.4.3 and version 5.2.5 the story_description was removed. That makes many Facebook feed posts useless. I checked through the skin, widget and shortcode settings but don’t see a way to turn story_description back on. Please add back the story_description. Thanks.

    Hope you are doing good today ??

    Actually, story_description is not available in the latest version of the Facebook Graph API that’s why we removed it from the plugin. We are using the story field to show the content. Can you share your site URL so I can see what type of posts is missing content?

    Example: Search for ‘PERFORMERS’ on production page and compare the production feed post to the development feed post.

    Development URL with plugin version 5.2.7 (without story_description) –
    https://dev.charlestonpickleball.com/news-page/#facebookfeed

    Note: Had to modify the feed background color in skin to make the likes count and comments count and shared count (along with their icons) visible. Need to configure a different feed background color before going into production. Other plugin users may benifit from this tidbit of information.
