Strange 404 Errors
-
I got a notification from Google that I had an increased number of 404 errors on my site. They are very strange. None of the 404 errors are actual URLs on my site. They don’t exist and never existed. Here are some examples:
https://www.thekitchensnob.com/about-me/
My about me page is /about-kitchen-snob. I don’t have an /about-me page so I don’t know where this came from.
When I click on “linked from” it gives me: https://www.thekitchensnob.com/2013/06/06/test-recipe/
“test recipe” page also doesn’t exist. I’ve never created it.https://www.thekitchensnob.com/2010/09/15/umbrella-rides-the-wind/
This doesn’t exist. I don’t have a blog post titled that, nor did I have a blog in 2010. It says it is linked from my home page and my /feed.https://www.thekitchensnob.com/2008/07/17/urna-eget-erat-non-purus/
There are quite a few like this (but with different weird words)https://www.thekitchensnob.com/2008/09/04/hello-world-2/
This reminds me of those blog posts that are setup for you before you begin blogging. Those are just a few. I’m not sure how to fix them because they don’t exist. I could do a redirect if it was from someone else’s blog but they all show they are coming from mine. Why would this be happening?
I should also mention that the 404 errors increased quite a bit within a day or two of switching my hosting to Siteground. I did contact Siteground but they didn’t really have an answer for me. “It wasn’t on their end” basically.
