• I made some modifications to the Connections theme and, although things still seems to work, my changes have caused some strange behavior in the templage manager window…instead of correclty displaying the theme name, author name, and the other usual stuff, I see all of the page code displayed in the theme manager window – please check out the screenshot at https://consideringeducation.net/?page_id=34

    Any ideas what I broke in the stylesheet or otherwise to make this happen?

  • Someone else posted the same thing recently, and he said he had done the modifications in dreamweaver. Let me find that thread…

    Did you touch by accident the first lines of the CSS file? The ones that look like:
    /*
    Theme Name: WordPress Classic
    Theme URI: https://www.ads-software.com/
    Description: The original WordPress theme that graced versions 1.2.x and prior.
    Version: 1.5
    Author: Dave Shea
    */

    Here’s the other guy

    Sounds like he just resaved the file through the WP interface and it fixed itself

    Yeah…I also used Dreamweaver. However, when I try to save the stylesheet in the theme editor in WordPress it tells me that the requested theme doesn’t exist??? I didn’t touch the first lines in the CSS file…made sure to go back and check that those lines look just like the unedited original. Strangely enough, I’ve edited other themes in Dreamweaver and not had the same issue.

    Well, I was able to get WordPress to edit the file…I saved the style file within the WordPress file editor (rather than in Dreamweaver), and what do you know, all better! I wonder what Dreamweaver does to the file to “break it”? Thanks for the ideas; hope this helps someone else as well…I know that I spent WAY too much time spinning my wheels on this one.

    Glad you got it sorted out. Yeah, thats pretty weird.
