Strange behavior of version 2.3.8

I use
<?php if ( function_exists( 'soliloquy' ) && is_page (xx) ...in the header to call a slider with three images.Updating to 2.3.8 causes these images to appear huge and below one another. They do not “slide” and instead obliterate much of the page. Reverting to 2.3.7 resolves the problem.
