    Hi everybody!

I faced a strange thing with WC lately. It’s happening only from time to time so it’s hard for me to reproduce it.

    What happens:
I open a product for editing and soon as the page has loaded the complete content from my “home” page (incl. images and everything) is automatically copied into the product description field and for some reason auto saved. Means I leave the page without clicking the update button to view the product and I have my full “home” page on the product page.

Did somebody experienced the same issues and is able to provide help?

WP, WC, theme and all plugins are updated to the latest version.

As it only happens sometimes the classic “deactivate/reactivate all plugins one by one” debug method is not quite helpful. And unfortunately I cannot test it on a local host right now.

Any suggestions or hints are much appreciated!

    Thanks for your time!

@chezzone – I personally have never heard or seen this happen.

The two things that I would look into in a situation like this are:

Caching – but I don’t think that applies here as that wouldn’t cause the page to auto-save.

Conflict – even though the behavior is inconsistent, I think this is the most likely cause.

It’s hard in situations like this when you can’t reliably recreate an issue. That being said, I would still recommend setting up a staging site. On that staging site, use either the default Twenty Nineteen or Storefront them – just make sure there are no customizations to them. Then turn off all plugins except for WooCommerce.

You’d then have to use the site in that state for a time period that you feel is reasonable for this issue to have happened.

Other things you can try is checking your servers PHP error logs or enabling debug logging for WordPress to see if either of those steps shed some clues. It’s possible if you can log some errors at the time that you experience the intermittent issue, that it could help to point you in a specific direction.

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
