After I updated Wp-Markdown plugin to 1.5.0, new plugin appeared in the plugin list “Markdown Extra” (which never been installed in my blog).

This plugin asks for update (to version 1.5.0 too), but plugin’s path leads to wp-markdown folder and it’s impossible to update it.

Hope this feedback will be useful to solve this problem.

  • I had the same issue. The update also affected the formatting of my blog posts so I had to deactivate and delete the plugin in order to get things back to normal. Hope these bugs can be addressed quickly.

Exactly, read more about this issue here.

You can install previous version (1.4) from here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-markdown/developers/

    Works for me just fine.

Apologies about this. It seems the Markdown extra library used added in support for WordPress without my realising it – as such it appears in the plug-in list, and conflicts with WP-Markdown.

While I’ve been able to remove the plug-in from the list, I hadn’t noticed any formatting errors. While I’m fairly certain that the latest commit on GitHub repository resolves the issue, could you provide with me with examples of formatting errors so that I can check, and add additional unit tests to help prevent this sort of thing happening again.

In the mean-time I’ll revert the stable tag back to 1.4.

Stephen, how can I help you. Can you give me a link to “new/fixed” 1.5? Where can I get it, so I can test it?

    Thanks

I’m seeing this issue too, just as described by mayuxi above!

    Hey all,

Apologies for taking a while to get back to this – this had to take a backseat for the last month. Anyhow, you can find the development version of the plug-in here: https://github.com/stephenharris/WP-MarkDown/.

If you want a beta-build of the plug-in, please get in touch via the e-mail at the top of wp-markdown.php. If you get let me know that it addresses the issues, I can get 1.5.1 out the door. Thanks!

That seems to fix it, as I can’t see the update notification anymore! Thanks!
