Strange character in submenu?

    If you hover over the Professionals, Educators, or Home Users menu, and then hover over one of the subpages, there is a weird character that appears to the left of each line. It looks like the number 1 with umlauts over it and two commas after it. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve driven myself insane using firebug to locate it – to no avail. Can someone please tell me what is causing this and how to get rid of it?

  • Have you tried:
    -deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    -switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    Thanks for your reply. I’m almost thinking it might be a theme-related issue, but it only seems to happen in the mega menu. The other menu items don’t show that strange character.

    But even so, shouldn’t it show in firebug somewhere?

    I tried firebug and some other dev tools and I can’t isolate it. Deactivating plugins and changing to the default theme is basic debugging. You don’t have to keep the theme changed for a long time – just enough to clear caches and check it.
