strange characters in text

The last two weeks or so, when ever I write a new entry and publish it some additional characters are added to and inbetween words. It seems to be replacing or maybe even adding spaces inbetween words.

A workaround is to write and publish, see where the error occurs, cut text and paste it in Textpad or whatever and cut and paste again into WP and republish it. This is really annoying as you might imagine.
