Strange Dashboard Main Page Issue

I recently noticed that the Dashboard link is doing something strange with the URL.

Currently it looks like this when I select Dashboard:

https://www.exampledomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=index.php

and it should be:

https://www.exampledomain.com/wp-admin/index.php

I can’t seem to figure out why this is happening. I’ve disabled all plugins as well and it still happens.

When I select Dashboard, none of the information (Welcome to WordPress, wordpress feeds, etc.) shows up in the body, however if I remove the admin.php?page=index.php and just have wp-admin everything works, but the Dashboard link still goes to the admin.php link.

I hope that makes sense.

Any ideas, help or suggestions would be great.
