• Hi:

I created a site for a client at the domain push4posh.com. I created it on my own dev site at WP Engine and then copied it to Godaddy where my client had bought hosting.

For some strange reason, though, my sister who is unconnected totally to this site is getting emails from [email protected] saying the elementor plugin is updated, and if there are any problems we have to get in touch with this WordPress support forum.

I am totally prplexed, as is my sister. What are these emails coming from [email protected]? If a site is with a webhost it’s usually the webhost who sends emails regarding plugin pdates. Is it possible to know why such emails are being generated from [email protected] and why – so we can stop them?

Although I created the site for my client, in none of my accounts anywhere is my sister connected at all!

    Please help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    No.

The host’s server is the “engine” that will actually deliver the emails to recipients, but the emails are actually prepared and sent by WordPress (and sometimes WordPress plugins and even themes).

And, yes, emails from WordPress sites, by default, come from the address [email protected], where example.com is the domain of the site in question.

The exception is users on some MANAGED WORDPRESS HOSTING services like WPEngine, where the hosting provider manages all WordPress/theme/plugin updates… and may not send any update notification emails at all… or send custom notification emails from their own domain and email address (and not the WordPress site’s address).

For your issue, I’ll recommend you login to the dashboard for the domain push4posh.com with an administrator-level account, navigate to SETTINGS => GENERAL and check what address is in the “Administration Email Address” email field.

    Standing by.
