• So many issues lately. I’m beginning to wonder if WordPress and Jetpack are going the way of the dinosaur.

To today’s point: Anyone know why I see different footer treatments within my WP post and the emailed version? The emailed version has “get the jetpack app” as part of the footer (with other strange things) and no social media options. How does it change from the original to something other? (Apparently I can’t upload screenshots; that would help illustrate the issue.)

PS: For another recent issue (emails not showing images), I was directed to the Jetpack forum. It’s been days without a single response. I’ve lost faith in them.

The subscription emails are advertising the Jetpack app because the Jetpack plugin is what’s providing your subscription emails.

WordPress itself does not offer subscription emails.

For questions about Jetpack, you can contact them at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support if you have any of their paid Jetpack plans or https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/jetpack/ if you do not.

Thank you, James! I do understand that Jetpack, not WordPress, provides the email subscriptions…. but … A.) I’ve been using the same format / configuration for years (keeping things updated, of course) without this kind of odd stuff happening, and B.) Jetpack is not responding to my inquiries. I’ll keep trying.

Jetpack recently changed the email template, which is probably why you’re suddenly seeing that.

The only thing that comes from WordPress for those is the post title and most of the post content (some content is stripped out or replaced to maintain compatibility with most email apps), and the rest is from Jetpack.

As for reaching Jetpack Support, they do give priority to their paying customers at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support

And, they will eventually reply to all of their free users at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/jetpack/ but probably slower than usual around a US holiday weekend.

While I’m waiting for Jetpack to respond (it’s been nearly 4 days now), is there another source you recommend looking into for email subscription/ generation with a self-hosted WP site? Or do you think JP is still the way to go.

I use Jetpack for email subscriptions myself, and haven’t had issues since they launched the feature years ago.

Thank you. I won’t lose hope then!
