strange issue, all pages save as a contact form!?

hi, any wordpress page or post i save will automatically change its url and title to contact form 1 – 2 -3 etc. any page i try to edit takes me to the a contact form to edit.
even when i deactivate contact form 7 the problem persists – although it is definitely a contact form page and url that is being rendered overriding anything i write.
help please!
