Strange 'J' letter one save of invoice

    Hi there,

    Firstly this is a simple and great plugin, so many others are either buggy or to complex for such a simple task.

    I am having one issue with this plugin. When i hit save or publish I get a weird letter ‘J’ just below the word INVOICE on the top right.

    It isn’t their when i first open to make the invoice it only appears when the post is saved.

    Any clues on how to fix this?

    Glad to hear your a fan ??

    Random ‘J’s can sometimes come about when the character used isn’t known by the font set, however the position of that J sounds a bit unusual. Are you able to get me some screenshots or some way to replicate this? Is there something your doing that is producing this character?

    I can’t say that I’ve experienced this before so very hard to debug. Is it coming through on the PDF when its generated?

    Look forward to hearing more of this issue.

    Hi Ash,

    Thanks for the super fast reply, its basically editable once i have saved the invoice and it does display in the pdf when you download it.

    It does it every time i create a new invoice and save it.

    Its there, when you click it, it removes the https://www. type that link manually into your browser bar and it will load.

    That field is the date field. What did you put in that field before you saved?

    I didn’t put anything in it, so it puts a J there its ok when i resave i can delete it and it goes away.

    What version of the plugin are you running? The latest version automatically adds the date in there for you. Did you remove it did you?

    Thats great that you were able to get around it, but I would prefer that it didn’t happen at all if you were to remove the date. Let me do some tests now knowing that knowledge and get back to you.

    Seems that I can’t replicate it on my end anyway. Could it be possible that there could have been an unusual character in the field at the time you saved?

    ‘J’s generally popup when the software is unable to render a character. I see it alot in emails when people use smilies that the software reading it doesn’t understand. Not suggesting that you put a smiley in the date field, more that there could have been an unusual character in the field (could have even been a ‘space’ not supported by UTF for example).

    Either way, it doesn’t seem to be something to do with the plugin, so I’ll mark this as resolved.
