Goodday!

i’m trying to adjust an email template in memberships pro: the “membership expiring” template. When i send this email, a strange name is added to the email “Tao la Chinh” I haven’t added this name. no matter what i change, it keeps sending this mail… is my site hacked?

    template:

Thank you for your membership to !!sitename!!. This is just a reminder that your membership will end on !!enddate!!.

Account: !!display_name!! (!!user_email!!)

Membership Level: !!membership_level_name!!

Log in to your membership account here: !!login_url!!

    Email:
Thank you for your membership to XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. This is just a reminder that your membership will end on February 2, 2023.

    Tao la Chinh

    Hello @etd87,

The last line of your emails is a common greeting in the Email Footer template. Have you looked at this file? The default text is:

    Respectfully,
    !!sitename!!

    But can be edited.

Please let us me know if your footer is adding the unwanted name.

Hi Kim! thanks for your reply.

The full email that i receive is the following:

Thank you for your membership to XXXXX. This is just a reminder that your membership will end on February 2, 2023.
    Tao la Chinh
    Account: xxx (xxx @xxx.xx)
    Membership Level: Masterlevel
Log in to your membership account here: https://XXXXXXXX.com/login/

    — THIS IS A TEST EMAIL —

So I don’t think it’s the footer of the email. … The name (or words) Tao la Chinh do not appear anywhere in a template.

Thank you @etd87 for this sample. This is not inserted by us that I can tell.

    Have you tired these things:

    1. Reset the email template?
    2. Delete all content in the email? does the name still appear?
    3. Disable all plugins but PMPro. Does this still appear? (you can use the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ if this is a live site.
    4. Confirm, are customers seeing this email or is it only on your test?

    Hi Kim!
Thank you very much for your reply.
I found the problem. The template editor of PMPro does not edit the templates of Learnpress for PMPro. However: if you click “save template and send email” it does send a test email. And that test email is not from PMPro but from learnpress, which is a bit misleading ??
So it appears as if the template you are editing is the one that’s being send, but that is not what is happening. In other words there seems to be a miscommunication between learnpress and PMPro.

Thanks for your replies! Best regards, Sander

Hey, I am having the same issue – exact same name is showing.

The site is also using LearnPress. I can’t figure it out. Have you gotten any further in figuring it out?

    Thanks.

You have to change the email template from Learnpress PMPro plugin (wp-content) using FTP. It is not possible to use the email template editor in WordPress PMPro…
