• Strange behaviour

    2 divisions – A & B

    4 teams in each
Players can play on 1 team in each divisions
BUT divisions can play each other

    Div A
    Team A
    Team B
    Team C
    Team D

    Div B
    Team E
    Team F
    Team G
    Team H

Ok. So here is the issue.
Player X plays on Team A and Team E. Those teams have yet to play each other.
Team A has played 4 games (3 against Div A opponents and once against a Div B opponent).

All stats have been entered for all for games Team A has played.
Edit Player A and I see that for the current season, they have played 4 games for the Div A team (Team A) and 1 game for the Div B team (Team E). Wait. What?
I have not entered any game stats for Team E yet, so where does it think that Player A has played a game for Team E yet?

It can only come from the match where Team A (div A) played Team G (div B).
So, as the season progresses, player stats will become muddied.

    Does this make any sense?

  • Hi @gator8

Thanks for reaching out, it’s great to see you again.

I see you helping other users in our forums all the time, and I know that when you open a ticket it’s going to be a hard one ??

So I’m going to tag our dev team here:
    @brianmiyaji @savvasha

Guys do you know what could be causing this? By your description indeed it looks like the events from team a against div 2 are being counted towards the div2 stats

    Thanks!

BTW, there’s an easy way to confirm that. You could set that event as a draft (A vs G) and see how the player stats are affected.

    Thanks!

    Hi @gator8 and @rochesterj,

In our next major version update (2.6) we are implementing a new stronger “link” between leagues, seasons, teams and players so as to avoid those strange behaviours of player stats.

I hope it will resolve your issues.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

Thanks for your help, @savvasha !

I had a feeling that this would require a bit of extra work indeed.

OK. Let’s hold off on this one. I’ll test the 2.6 to see if it still happens.

    Great, thanks for your patience.

Also, did you try setting your events as drafts to confirm if that event, in particular, was causing that issue?

    Thanks!

    Installed 2.6
Set events to draft and then published again. No change.

    Here’s what I’m talking about:
    https://dawksports.com/player/clarie-mcneufeld/

same season. two teams. different divisions. In this case, these teams DID play each other, but this player was only checked off as playing on 1 of the teams.
She played 2 games for High Sox and 1 for Storm.
The Career stats are correct, but if you look at the tables above that, things are messed up.
All of her stats came from her first game (for Storm), but the table show point for High Sox as well. She never had any stats with that team.

    Hi!

    Thanks for testing!

Did you try setting your events as drafts? This was just to confirm if that event, in particular, was causing this issue. It could be something else, even though it’s very likely that it is the cross-division setup that is causing this.

    Thanks!
