I have been having a strange problem since upgrading to the latest version of wordpress.

Since upgrading there is two backslashes at the top of the website in all themes and also and I don’t know if this is related but I dont have any editing tools when I create a new post.

I have also noticed the \\ in other odd places like in the admin control panel.

Anyone got any idea what could be causing this? Bare in mind I know a little about php and how to edit files but thats about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

OK i’m still having this problem, i’m assuming it has nothing to do with the theme as it show up in the wp-admin pages too.

I cant seem to see where it is coming from, i havent relly changed anything so I cant see were the problem is originating from.

Does anyone have a list of the pages that are opened when php parses the wordpress site? Like index.php then some otherpage like header.php then middle.php or however it works so that i can work through them looking for the spare comments that keep displaying on my site?

I also cant post anything unless i use just HTML for the post as it doesnt show up the tool bar with the editing tools on it.

OK after all that checking files I have found the problem was from a plugin called Avatar PopUp.

I resolved it by disabling all my plugins and noticed the problem disapeered so i re-enabled the plugins one by one and found that the pop avatar plugin was causing the problem.

So if anyone else has this problem then this is how i would start to find the solution
