  • Hi @aiogreece!

The default language is greek so the link of a page in this site is:
    https://www.demosite.gr/mysite/test-gr-article/

The english alias of this article is:
    https://www.demosite.gr/mysite/en/test-en-article/

I’m also run TSF + WPML and on my installation I don’t have this problem, but I’m running WordPress in root. I assume, your WordPress is installed with subdirectory, am I right?

So as you can see is wrong in sitemap.

Do the links work? I understand you are not happy with the permalink structure of the link, but do they give you 404?

PS. Also if you change the language in admin panel from Greek to English the sitemap gives 404 error.

This sound more like an WPML error to me. Is there something indicating that this problem is related to TSF?

Also, might be dumb suggestion, do you experience the same problem with other SEO plugins? Yoast? AIO? Just pull your website to local and try it (WAMP/LAMP or any other dev tool). Thanks for clarification!

    Hi @aiogreece,

    Regarding URL generation:
Some configurations within WPML and WordPress aren’t compatible with TSF 2.9.4 and below.
Due to the unnecessarily added complexity of these type of translation plugins, this was bound to happen.

However, this issue is resolved as of TSF 3.0 and it should be so indefinitely, as we gave back control to WordPress and the translation plugins.
TSF 3.0 has no planned release date yet and is still in development. I strive to have it released before December.

If you only experience these issues within the sitemap, I’d suggest using an additional sitemap plugin in the meantime, like Google XML Sitemaps.

From lebaux’s insights, if the sitemap URLs work and still show (or redirect to) the correct pages, you shouldn’t have to worry.

    Regarding admin language switching:
I can’t tell what the cause is.

Is the sitemap still accessible through other browsers at that point? If not, then there’s an unsolicited permalink flush caused by another plugin.

If that’s not the issue, then I’d require more information before assessing.
