Strange role/capability problems [Virtual Multiblog, renamed tables]
-
Hello guys!
The Prequel:
I had a blog running normally with WP. Then I needed another blog and wanted to reuse the installed software, so I chose the plugin Virtual Multiblog. After installation you need to visit your blog and the Installer shows up to set up a fresh blog. VMB will redirect database calls, so that, f.e., a call to the table wp_posts will be redirected to wp_www_yourdomain_com_posts.So after running the installer I got a fresh blog for my domain. I then deleted all newly created tables and renamed the old tables, because I wanted to keep my posts and settings, of course ?? It almost worked; VMB also manipulates some data in the usermeta table (capabilities, usersettings, userlevel are renamed like the table itself before).
The Gist:
In the old blog I got the administrator role, but I can’t moderate comments, delete plugins/themes, add users, edit pages created before the database changes … I can however add pages (but not publish!), activate/deactivate plugins/themes, edit/publish all posts, edit pages created after the database changes!Old pages, that were created before the changes, and newer pages look exactly like the same in the database (same user ID, settings, etc.), so I don’t get why I can’t edit some of them?!
Of course I used the multiblog plugin to create another blog, I don’t have these problems there. I’m totally confused and hope that you can help me; I searched the database for obvious errors but didn’t find any ??
Thanks,
Miss FetishFairy
