    Strange things happened after installing the plugin and creating a card product.

    1. The copy card product was created as a Simple Product type.
    2. The PW Gift Card turned into the Simple Product type with the Manage Stocks option turned on (so, the card becomes not available to purchase) after I delete the copy card product.
    3. The copy card product was created as a Simple Product type again after I turned the card back into the PW Gift Card type.

    So, I just leave the copy and hide it as a Draft. Funny part: this doesn’t happen on the dev store. The only difference is Duplicate Page & Post Views Counter plugins on the production store.

    It sounds like there might be a conflict with the Duplicate Page & Post Views Counter plugin. Try disabling that plugin and trying again. I just did a test copy and the product correctly stayed as a PW Gift Card type.

    The reason was found: the card was in the category synchronizing with the WMS service which turns the PW Gift Card product into the Simple one every time when synchronizing happens. Solved by moving the gift card product into the category which not synchronizing with the WMS service. So, there no problems with the plugin.
