Streaming a url without a .mp3 extension

Found a great solution for this here, after a lot of searching:

Previously I was getting an ugly ‘download’ link trying to play a stream from soundcloud which had a client id etc attached.

The link above tells you to uncomment out (eg activate) a few lines of code within the mediaelements .php plugin file. Works a treat.
