Hi There, I’m having an issue with Safari on an iPad when testing a layout with SiteOrigin Page Builder.

My row has 2 columns, one with a SiteOrigin Editor widget and the other with just a background image in the column cell. I have set my row to use ‘Stretch’ as the ‘Cell Vertical Alignment’ option.

I have set the background image in the empty cell to use ‘Cover’ so it always fills all the space.

On all browsers the background image will stretch to fill the vertical space to match the content in the Editor widget. EXCEPT Safari, which seems to set the image to something like ‘Contain’, only filling the horizontal width.

Is there any workaround for this?

    Hi Shaun,

I’ve had a look at the linked page in Safari and I can’t seem to replicate the outlined result. Are you able to replicate this issue with another iPad, or while using Private Browsing? Also, can you please take a screenshot of the results you’re getting? www.ads-software.com doesn’t allow for image uploads so you’ll need to upload the images to an image hosting site like Imgur and add include the image links in your reply.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

I’ve checked on a newer iPad and the problem doesn’t occur, so it looks like it is older versions of Safari that do this.

I think I will mark this as resolved as you can never support all old browser versions forever!

    Many thanks,

    Shaun

    Hi Shaun

Thanks for the update and for taking a look. I wonder if the version of Safari with the issue is pre-Flexbox support? Support seems decent from 6.1 onwards. Do you know which version is experiencing the issue?
