    Hi,
Overall TranslatePress works well throughout my site. However, When I am translating and click on “older posts” to translate 2 posts that don’t appear on a category landing page – the strings never load and the pencil icon will not appear. I am only having issues with 2 older posts and they do not have any content, etc. that is different from other areas on my website.

    Thanks,
    Christina

    Hi,

Yes of course, so the website is https://clientsupportservices.ca/
The particular issue is happening on this page:
https://clientsupportservices.ca/category/resources/ (when you scroll to the bottom and click older posts – those last ones won’t allow for translation).

    Best,
    C

    Greetings,

I am sorry for my delayed answer.

Try disabling post container tags for post titles and post content. You can find this under Settings ->TranslatePress ->Advanced ->Debug.

Hopefully this will solve your issue. Let me know how it goes.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Andrei,

Thanks for getting back to me! I have disabled those two things, saved changes and now when I go onto the posts page: https://clientsupportservices.ca/category/resources/

It won’t allow me to translate any pages (even the new ones that had previously been working).

    Hi Andrei,

I do not have the paid version of the plugin and opening a support ticket for the free version directs me back to this forum.

    Hello there,

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Could you provide some screenshots for a better understanding of the issue at hand please?

    Best regards.

    Hi Andrei! No problem.

I made a viewable google drive folder with the screenshots: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xV33nziDhRF3ZH5JinhwXFGSPZ4wzwNM?usp=sharing

    Image 1:
When I first go into my site to translate, the home page works just fine.

    Image 2:
I then navigate to the drop down menu and go to the page on my website that is titled Resources. It is a category accumulation of blog posts.

    Image 3:
Within Category: Resources, I have several posts. The first few work well with TranslatePress. (ie. Mental Health resources).

    Image 4:
I scroll to the bottom of Category: Resources page and click on the “older posts” button to access 2 more posts.

    Image 5:
These are the two posts in question, that do not allow me to translate.

    Image 6:
When I click on the post, basically the little pencil icon never appears and on the left hand side, the “loading strings” drop down menu never loads.

    I hope these screenshots help!

    Hey there,

Those screenshots were a huge help in understanding the problem that you are facing and I am very grateful you sent them.

One approach would be to wrap the those 2 posts with a translation block:
    https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-editor/#translation-blocks

    <div class=”translation-block”>
    Translate everything <div>inside</div>
    </div>

You have to keep in mind that the entire content will merged into one string, so any changes made to the original text will invalidate your translation.

Another approach would be to use our Conditional Shortcode:
    https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-shortcode/

Let me know how this goes.

    Hi Andrei,
I ended up realizing that those pages did not load the correct URL when using the TranslatePress interface. So I copy and pasted the end of the URL from a post that did work and it ended up fixing the problem (ie. loading all the strings and allowing me to edit).

Now the only thing that hasn’t fixed itself is that when I am on the French version of the site, those same two “older posts” will only show their titles in English (see screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i3YrlRQA6RdGibFaYUkqaFsbJLru8V55/view?usp=sharing) . However, when I click on the post to read more, it is fully translated.

Not sure if this is related or a completely different issue.

    Thanks for your ongoing help!

    Hey there,

I am sorry for the long waiting time that you have experienced.

Please open another ticket here if your problem is still relevant and we will make it a priority to solve your issue.
